KOGETSUDO where you can casually drop in.

Okashitsukasa KOGETSUDO, founded in 1895, is famous for its famous chestnut Manju. The takeout shop “KOGETSUDO KISSAKO hanare” open on July 16, 2022, as a place for new customers to know the high-quality flavor of Kogetsudo in the expanded section of the KOGETSUDO store in Aeon Mall Kashiihama. I was in charge of its graphic design.
“hanare” means the annex of the Kitakyushu Kokura main store “KOGETSUDO KISSAKO”. It is a shop where you can taste in Fukuoka. After many conversations with the client, I designed the graphics to create an atmosphere where younger generations can feel free to stop by, rather than the slightly high threshold impression of a long-established confectioner. While verifying several mark proposals, we decided to share the moon mark of KOGETSUDO, considering that the shops will be lined up in the same area as the existing stores instead of being separate stores and that new customers will be connected to the existing stores. In order to create an opportunity for the younger generation who visit the store to rediscover the fact that chestnut products are famous, I designed a logotype with a slightly charming chestnut motif for the “O” in KOGETSUDO. I proceeded with setting the key colors while cooperating with the space designer.
