ATARASHISATO” is an activity in Ishinuki, Tamana City, Kumamoto Prefecture, for which I am providing design assistance. I was in charge of package design for “Satoyasumi,” a brand of healthy snacks using local ingredients, which was a new project.
I came up with the name with the idea that the snacks would be sold on a shelf in the company cafeteria of a certain company, so that employees could take a break with the blessings of Sato during their snack time.
The package was designed in the motif of a bamboo colander with one side open, which is a symbol of the Sato harvest.
To avoid contact between the food and the printing ink, the design was reversed and a label with white ink post-printed on it was applied from the outside on the back of the bag.
Dried mandarin oranges made from Tensui mandarin oranges are used, which are misshapen or cracked but taste the same. I look forward to future development.
